A chemical engineer from University of
Aston, Birmingham, UK, Mr. Narayanan has also a Bachelor’s Degree in
Chemistry from the University of Madras.
He is a chartered engineer with over 38
years of experience in agro processing industries and is considered to
be one of the experts in this field. He has vast experience in the
processing of Coffee, Spices, Edible Oils, Milling of Paddy, Mineral
Water and in Dairy. He also has considerable expertise in upgrading and
improving old plants.
He has worked for 10 years with Brooke
Bond India Ltd as Research Manager. A further 10 years was with
Ballestra India Ltd., Mumbai as Gen Mgr Projects in the fields of Oil
Expellers, Oil Extraction, refining and toilet soaps and detergents.
From 1990 to 1997 he was Vice President –
Technical and Projects for the Agribusinesses of ITC group. During this
time he set up the largest edible oil processing complex India in 1994.
He retired in 1998 and since then has been a consultant to several large
organizations – Monsanto Enterprises Ltd., Mumbai, Artson Engineering
Ltd., Mumbai, De Smet Engineers and Contractors, Belgium and Numico
He offers expertise in safety, energy
efficiency, new projects identification, sizing and location, upgrading
and revamping old plants as also in training in process plant
maintenance and process optmisation.
